Candles and fragrances always add that touch of chic to any home. I recently came across this soothing brand called Artisan of Sense. The brand started by a Hongkonger who moved to Singapore a few years ago, brings you a diverse collection of candles and other scents to brighten up your home.
The founder Vivian Chung came up with the idea many years ago when she realized that fragrances from diffusers often left her queasy. She realized the alcohol and petroleum by-products ingredients, found in many candle and home reed diffusers are unhealthy.
She decided to concoct her own mixes and came up with candles, reed diffusers and room sprays that stay away from phthalates, parabens and sulfates.
Her candles are made with 100% soy wax and use essential oils instead of strong artificial fragrances. Her candles use a cotton wick and do not release toxic soot.
She has crafted a collection of 18 fragrances for her candles. Some of the unique ones from the list that I liked are: jasmine – lily – neroli, oud -rose – amber, and musk-bergamot-rose.
The soothing pink palette of her packaging is so calming. Check out her lovely diffuser and candle set, that would make a lovely present. If you want to customize a present, you can build your own gift which allows you to choose your candle, room spray and essential oil flavor of choice.
She is a huge advocate of sustainability and is mindful of how her products care for the environment. For example, the glass used in her candle jars and bottles are recyclable. Her packaging also uses eco-friendly paper.
Prior to launching her brand, Vivian worked in hospitality in Hong Kong for many years. She understands the challenges of a start-up, and jokes that she has gone through it all. From building everything from scratch – product scents, branding and packaging – her journey as an entrepreneur has been filled with many adventures. From a simple home-spun business, today her products are available at many locations in Singapore. She also runs a studio where customers can go and try out her entire line of products.
