After a day of baby chores, visiting a bookstore was my evening treat. The obvious choice seemed the sprawling Kinokuniya, but I decided to give it a miss and try something offbeat. So, here I was at Woods in the Books, a snug bookstore in the Tiong Bahru area in Singapore.
This bookstore is seriously a visual delight. My first impression was that its a bookstore for children, but if you delve deeper, you will notice the store has a fascinating collection of ‘picture books’ for adults too! I love the way the owners (Shannon Ong and Mike Foo) have styled the space. Keeping it minimalistic, simple white shelves exhibit the colorful titles. The space is adorned with stuffed toys, paper mobiles, wall art and other bric-a-brac.
While browsing through the handpicked collection, don’t be surprised if you find something tickling your feet. It’s Scotti, the cute little Maltese pup who does his rounds greeting visitors.
