Do your kids love Lego?
Mine definitely do.
Legos are great learning tools for kids. It helps kids practice focus and discipline and learning to follow instructions. It is also a great tool for kids to learn the art of patience.
Lego is a line of plastic construction toys that are manufactured by the LEGO Group, a company held in Billund, Denmark. The company was founded in August 10, 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The name LEGO is derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning play well.
Ole Christiansen was a carpenter whose primary business was to produce household goods. He initially manufactured wooden toys, but later developed a system of interlocking bricks. After a fire in the woodworking department, Ole’s son Godtfred decided to stop the production of wooden toys and focus solely on plastic products.
LEGO Friends, which is my daughter’s favourite. has some very interesting models that the kids can create. The collection features sets that allows you to build an art school, ice-cream truck, water park, hair salon, tree-planting vehicle, sports center and many more. The LEGO bricks are small and help train young kids to improve their fine motor skills.
I love how the brand comes up with such unique designs to ensure kids do not find the activity difficult and mundane.

Besides LEGO Friends, the brand also has a sub-brand called LEGO Dots which allows kids to make some lovely miniature LEGO models. For instance, the LEGO Creative Party kit has been a huge hit on playdates. I also love the Secret Boxes and Secret Holders which are part of this collection. The Candy Kit bracelet and bag tags is also a sure winner for young kiddos, who love to accessorize their backpacks.
For Harry Potter fans, there is an entire range dedicated to creating Harry Potter memorabilia.
They have such a dizzying collection of Lego models to make, with themes ranging from film, architecture, Disney, Batman, Duplo, Super Mario, Minecraft and lots more.
Can’t wait to work on a few more with my kiddos.
