Lately, I’ve been addicted to Oolong Caramel au Beurre Sale, made by French company Comptoir Francais du The. My husband brought back some packets for me during one of his travels to South East Asia. In Asia, this tea is only retailed in luxury hotels, and not available for retail sale.
What I like is the subtle sweetness that this green tea has, which honey and sugar can’t bring. Ironically, I’m also reading David Lebovitz’s book The Sweet Life in Paris, which is a food memoir interspersed with entertaining anecdotes about David’s (an American) life in Paris, and French recipes. A fairly light read, you do learn a thing or two about French idiosyncrasies like “dressing up” to take the trash out, ironing kitchen towels, to eating bananas with a fork and knife. Check out some of his awesome recipes on his blog: http://www.davidlebovitz.com.
Perfect accompaniments as you curl up and escape the world.
