Personalized gifts are fairly common to celebrate the arrival of a baby. Here’s a lady in Singapore, Samantha Dorri, whose brand, Sammyeve, does some lovely personalized wall art for a little one’s nursery.
I get to meet her for a brief chat, a couple of weekends ago in Singapore. I realize her personality somewhat reflects in her work. Clean cut, colourful and stylish, her designs are inspired by Swiss and Japanese design. A stickler for good quality and finish, she uses the highest quality paper and Giclee fine art printing.
Samantha, is British by nationality, but lives in Singapore, with her husband and daughter. Samantha launched Sammyeve, a few months ago, after a long professional career. She has experience working across agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, Futurebrand, SAS London and Above Design, before she decided to go solo.
If you notice, her works truly exude a lot of character. From toy trains, elements from nature to mythology, she uses various themes to create personalized artwork that are creative. Staying true to the region, she has an entire range based on the Chinese zodiac sign. This appeals not just to locals, but also expatriates whose children were born in Singapore. It reminds them of their life here, she says.
Samantha wants to design custom birth prints across languages (right now it is only English). For that, she is searching for appropriate fonts across languages that match her style. However, knowing her creative streak, I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s tugging at heartstrings across nationalities.
Samantha has been kind enough to giveaway one free birth print from her collection (worth S$150 dollars), to a lucky winner. All you need to do is post a comment on what designs you would like to see on a birth print. Or simply email us at [email protected], and let us know. This giveaway is open to people all over the world.
