We first heard of the Woom Bike from a friend who strongly recommended it to us for its light-weight nature.
The brand was founded in 2013 in a garage in Vienna by Marcus Ihlenfeld and Christian Bezdeka – two dads who were crazy about bikes. Over the years, Woom has grown into a company with an international presence. Both Marcus and Christian wanted to create a bike that would be comfortable for kids to ride on.
The bicycle company makes some amazing balance bikes, but we chose to buy the regular bicycle for him as he had outgrown the balance bike phase. The company makes bicycles for kids all the way from toddlers to tweens.
The brand is known for its ultra-light weight appeal. The lighter a bike is, the easier it is for a child to ride it. The bikes are 40 percent lighter than a conventional kids’ bicycle. The brand is known for its high-quality components and child-supportive ergonomics. The bikes are made with very light aluminium tubing and all of them are fitted with Kendra tyres.
I like how the website recommends bikes depending on your child’s age. To know more about Woom, check out this blog: https://www.twowheelingtots.com/woom-bikes/ which provides a detailed review of the bike.
Kabir started out with the smaller bicycle and learnt how to cycle in a matter of a few weeks. It was a delight to see him cycle to school every day on his bike. He also enjoyed riding his Woom with his dad, while taking cycling trips to the park.
For the New Year, we decided to gift him a larger Woom. When we told him about his new bicycle, he very happily said he wanted the colour ‘reeeeed’, which is his favourite colour (and also mine).
